Swedens most fun and friendly sailing competition for both pros and keen amateurs crews made of friends and family members. As the name implies it´s all about getting around the island first.

Medieval week/ Medeltidsveckan
Aug 8- Aug 15

For an entire week in August, people dress themselves as close to the Medieval Times as possible. There will be markets and music, theater shows and knights clashing in tournaments around Gotland.

Vadstuck Rock Festival
June 12 -June 15

Gotland’s one and only Rock Festival.

Gotland Chamber Music Festival
July 27- 2 Aug

Features concerts with some of Sweden´s finest artists in classical music. Some concerts are held in the beautiful St.Nicolai ruins.

Stångaspelen
July 8- July 11
“The Gotlandic Olympics” is a competition with authentic ancient Gotlandic sports like, quare-and-border- ball, the Stone, Pole throwing, Gotlandic Pentathlon and so on. The competition has been held since 1924.

Bergman Week
June 29 – July 4
Ingmar Bergman, Gotland’s internationally most recognized citizen, passed away 2007.
Bergman Week is a six day celebration of Ingmar Bergman’s art, with films, guests, seminars, tours and even filming locations on Fårö. This year’s 2009 guest of honor will be German director Wim Wenders.
